Menu Items Disappear after running for some time - Forms

Hi all,
The menu items of our system may disappear after running it for some time. If this is caused my shortage of memory? But my PC already has 128M. Please help, thanks. We are using Form 5.0

Unable to navigate through mouse click

Hi,
Often i am facing a strange issue. When i click on a field in a form the cursor is not moving to that field. I must use tab to reach that field.
This will happen suddenly, when this issue comes i use to close oracle window and login again. Then i can able to work normally.
Please suggest me a solution.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Chaitanya.
Does this happen on all machines? Did you try using different browser?
Enabling trace should be helpful in revealing more details about the issue.
Chaitanya,
Even I noticed such issues and the solution you mentioned is the only way out. To me it seems more of a JVM issue.
Thanks

system.cursor_value out of sync?

I have seen in previous postings that there was a bug regarding mouse navigation because the system.cursor_value got out of sync. In postings it is stated that this is corrected in version 6.0.8.18. We are running Forms9i and we have the same problem. Very often the mouse locks up, ie the focus returns to the previous field, but keyboard navigation works ok. Does anybody know how to solve this? Issuing a synchronize before call_form or open_form does not solve the problem.
Hello,
Are you facing this problem after a call_form from a hierarchical tree?
Regards Erik
Hi,
No, I am not using call_form from hierarchial tree.

Vidar, did you ever get this problem resolved? We are experiencing a similar problem, but only on our XP platform clients.

Forms 6i/Messages/Strange situation Pl. help

Folks,
We have recently migrated some applications from Forms 3.0 to 6i. Customer complaining that users can barely read message on console as it quickly disappears.
The issue is when user points a mice on save button of a form toolbar, the console message is replaced with ‘Save’, this is causing the actual message to disappear.
Is there way I can hide tool icon or option message? Or what is the best solution to handle this?
Appreciate your response,
Thanks,
Raj
are you working with the hint.pll ?

can someone tell me please how can i solve the problem ?

Hello,
You should check your browser popup blocker utility. Did you upgrade your browser? Installed new toolbar? Removed one?
Regards,
Arie.
hi arie
i don't know it's not in my local stand
but if i need to check are you saying it's should be in popup blocker utility?
only there ?
thanks
Hello,
I spoke from my own personal experience, in a similar situation, when I re-installed the Google toolbar, and the default option for the popup blocker was to block all popup. Took me awhile to realize this was the problem.
I can’t really think of other local factors that can cause this kind of problem.

Arie.

Mouse navigation problem in webforms

Hi,
The focus does not change from one item to another item in which the mouse pointer is put, i.e, cannot click on any of the other text_items, the focus remains in the original item, and the mouse navigation does not work, in the forms 6i webforms.
We had this problem prior to installing the Patch4. Later on, it was found that probably the Bug:1501359 could be causing the problem. Then, as suggested fix, Oracle Forms 6i Patchset 4 (Forms 6.0.8.13) was installed, and those problem webforms were tried again(with JInitiator that comes along with Patchset 4). But the same problem was being found again. These problems are found only in those forms that have multiple blocks.
What additional setting needs to be done? Should the latest available patchset(11?) available be installed? Please help..
Ranjith..
Hi,
The multiblock form has a control block having non-key-navigable, non-mouse-navigable buttons. Suppose data is entered into the other data-blocks, and the KEY-COMMIT acion is invoked using the key-combination(CTRL+S), the data is saved. There is no problem now in mouse navigation. But, when after the data entry, the "Save" button(of the control block, mentioned earlier) is pressed, the data is saved...but further, the mouse navigation is totally getting disallowed..
Is the problem we are facing, due to the property settings we have done. Or, need any additional patchset be installed..
Help please..
Thank you,
Ranjith..
Hi,
Should only the Forms component need have been installed and not the whole patchset 4 for fixing the mouse navigation problem on web-forms..All our multiple blocks forms seem to have been affected with this problem, although we compiled the whole set of forms again in the patched version..Please help..
Thank you,

Hi
The mouse navigation freeze is coming only after the commiting action is invoked(EXECUTE_TRUGGER('KEY-COMMIT')), by clicking on the Save button..not if CTRL+S is used..Please, please give us some ideas towards tackling this problem..
Thank you
Ranjith..
Did you try to use Do_Key('COMMIT_FORM') ?
Thank you very much for giving the fresh idea..We tried it..But still the mouse navigation is getting disallowed when using that "Save" button..Then we put the code for that(Save) button's when-button-pressed as
do_key('COMMIT_FORM');
message('do keyed'); --some message.
Surprisingly, the mouse navigation problem is not coming now..further navigation with mouse is allowed..what is the exact reason...is there any other way to tackle it...
Thank you,
Ranjith..
Did you try to use Do_Key('COMMIT_FORM') ?
Sorry, the problem was solved only for one form..The other bulky forms are still having mouse navigation problems..What other methods could be tried out...help please..
Ranjith..
It seems to be a bug. Sometimes using of
message('');
helps.
Thank you agin..Not only after pressing the "Save" button, but on a few other cases where form_triger_failures are raised, also is giving the mouse navigation freeze..What is the URL of the latest downloadable patchset of forms6i..would there be a problem if we jump from patchset-4 version to the latest available..Would the problem be solved if we recompile all the problem forms using the latest patch..
Thank you
Ranjith..
Patches are available from metalink site:
http://metalink.oracle.com/
and also here:
ftp://oracle-ftp.oracle.com/dev_tools/patchsets/
We use Patch10 (6.0.8.19.2) without such problems as you have.
Did you compile all forms by using Ctrl+Shift+K ? Sometimes it helps ...
I have forgotten that using of timers can also cause such problems.
Thank you very much again..We have started downloading the patchset 10. Hope there wont be much problem directly jumping from patchset 4 to 10..Nowhere in our problem webforms have we used timers..throughout we have used Ctrl+Shift+K, for complete compilation..
Thank you,
Ranjith..
Hi,
The mouse navigation problem for the bulky web-forms seems almost to be gone after installing the Patchset10. Has to check further on the raise form_trigger_Failures and the button clicks..The applets rendered by the new JInitiator is very different from the earlier ones..i.e, some problems that were encountered earlier is not coming now..Thank you for the valuable suggestions..
Thank you
Ranjith..
